About

Jacksonville, North Carolina, is a beautiful little piece of heaven on the Eastern North Carolina coast and is also home to Marine corps base Camp Lejeune. Few places are as awe inspiring or cultured as Jacksonville is, and fewer towns provide a better night life or chain restaurant scene. This blog intends to document and find out, all the things that make Jacksonville great and what other cities can do to become not only America’s All-American city in 1992, but America’s youngest city. Actionville!

About Dylan Freeman

Dylan Freeman was born on October 21, 1984 in Eliott Hospital in Manchester, NH. His father heeded Horace Greely’s call to go west 150 years late and when he was nine, Dylan moved with his family to Oregon. After graduating from Bend Senior High School (home of the lava bears) in 2003, he spent a year finding himself on New Zealand’s South Island. Upon his return, he spent 2 months wandering the wilderness areas of Malheur County and and worked for a while on a timber operation north of Burns, Oregon. He enlisted in the marine corps on a whim in the summer of 2004 and arrived at MCRD San Diego in September of 2004 on a five year contract. Dylan is currently stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Dylan Freeman has started a new blog to explore other issues beyond Classy Jacksonville. It might be a little less funny, but he’s been wanting to write about some different things besides this great town we live in.
